Two-Factor Authentication

Two-Factor Authentication

leitzcloud attaches great importance to the security of your data. For this reason, we also give you the option to make your own security settings, for example to use Two-Factor Authentication. It adds a second verification step for logging into leitzcloud.

With Two-Factor Authentication, an authentication code is sent to the user via app or text message.

To log on to the Web Cloud or to use the Outlook add-on and the mobile app, the received code must be entered after typing in the user name and password.

Activation of the Two-Factor Authentication for users

Users can activate their personal Two-Factor Authentication individually.

To do this, open the account settings on the top right of the screen and click “Enable” at the Two-Factor Authentication.

Activation of the Two-Factor Authentication for organizations

If administrators activate Two-Factor Authentication for an organization, it applies to all users of that organization.

To activate, go to “Settings”, switch to the tab “Policies”, check the box beneath “Require two-step authentication?” and save your changes.

Next time the users log in, they are asked to adjust their personal authentication settings.

Now, Two-Factor Authentication will be required when registering a new device.

If an administrator deactivates Two-Factor Authentication for an organization, the users have to change their settings too if they want to deactivate it as well.
